BMW 850 1991 Used

The 8 Series, introduced in 1989 (code E31) was only available as a two-door coupé. It was powered by naturally aspirated V8 and V12 engines. The E31 began production at the same time as the E24 6 series ended, but it is not considered a direct successor. It was then discontinued in 1999 due to disappointing sales. Design work on the first generation E31 series began in 1984 and the final design and development phase began in 1986. The car made its debut at the 1989 Frankfurt Moor Show and was produced until 1999. The 8 Series was designed to outperform the 6 Series, both in performance and price.  The 8 Series was the first production car to offer a V12 engine coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission and was one of the first vehicles to be equipped with an electronically controlled accelerator. The 8 Series was also among the first BMW cars to use a multi-link rear axle.  Almost 20 years after the end of the 1st series, the model range was reintroduced in 2018 with the second generation, the G15 8 series.
